Qi Qi Pan
潘琪琪, R.Ac
Plenty of people are nervous about needles — say so, is the line Qi Qi Pan comes back to across all eight of her interviews. Her way of working is to set out the process first: how many needles, where they go, what you may feel, and at what point you should say stop. You decide once you understand it, and you can stop at any point.
She is a Registered Acupuncturist in British Columbia, Full and Practising, which can be checked on the public register. Acupuncture after a car accident is within what ICBC pre-approves, and her work often runs alongside Dr. Kong's hands-on treatment in a single visit.

Bone-setting & die da
Xie Yuan (Ivan) Kong
孔燮垣, Dr.TCM
Dr. Kong trained formally in the Lingnan bone-setting line. He graduated from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine in 1987 and went straight into the emergency department of Guangzhou Orthopaedic Hospital, where for five years most of what came through the door could not wait. That is what set the pace he still works at with acute injury: attend to the joint first, discuss the rest afterwards.
He established the clinic in Vancouver in 1993. The clinic formerly operated on Kingsway and later moved to its present address, 6529 Victoria Drive. He has been registered in British Columbia as a Dr.TCM — the senior class of registration — since 2001.
