How many acupuncture sessions will I need? Why can't we answer that with a single number? I'm Qiqi Pan at Guangzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic.

First, we need to assess whether acupuncture is appropriate, understand your situation, and discuss your goals. If you decide to try it, agree on when to review progress, what changes to watch for, and when the plan should change or stop. Ask about costs and what each visit involves.

Someone else's number of sessions isn't automatically right for you. If the expected changes aren't happening, tell your practitioner and review the plan, rather than simply continuing. What matters is understanding why you are starting, how progress will be assessed, and when to make the next decision.

The video is the practitioner's own account of their clinical view. It is not diagnosis or treatment advice, and it is not a claim about outcomes.

In an emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.

Want to ask about your own case?

Describe it on the phone and the practitioner will say whether it is worth coming in.
