Transcript Qi Qi Pan in their own words
Considering acupuncture for the first time? Besides asking whether it hurts, what else is worth asking? I'm Qiqi Pan at Guangzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic.
Start with, Why might this be an option for my situation? Then ask, What are we hoping to improve, and how will we track any change? Find out about possible risks, other approaches, costs, and the time involved. If you hear an unfamiliar term, it's fine to say, Could you explain that in everyday language? Receiving a service doesn't mean you need to understand all the medical terminology.
And if you don't understand, you don't have to nod along. Asking the key questions and making an informed decision matters more than rushing to start.
In an emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
Describe it on the phone and the practitioner will say whether it is worth coming in.
